Sheila Sawyer, MD

Sheila Sawyer, MDSheila Sawyer, MD, is a Family Physician with over 30 years of clinical experience. She had the privilege of caring for families in a solo practice that included the delivery of 1500 babies, caring for children, specializing in women’s health, and managing adults’ well and sick care. She served as a volunteer Family Doctor for the Neighborhood Health Clinic in Naples, FL, from 2002 to 2021.

In 2016, Dr. Sawyer received certification in Functional Medicine and is now coaching women in the proper use of bio-identical hormones using The Menopause Method. She has been a teaching fellow for the American Association for Physician Leaders since 1998. In addition, she was Regional Medical Director for the Iowa Health System in Cedar Rapids, Iowa (1995-2002).

Dr. Sawyer received her medical degree from the University of Iowa, a Fellowship in Family Medicine from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a Masters of Medical Management from Tulane University, and Functional Medicine Certification from the Institute of Functional Medicine.

In her leisure time, Sheila loves to learn and take ballroom dance lessons, and for the last eight years has had the pleasure of mentoring six children now ages 11-14.
